How to Edit a PDF Online for Free (Without Uploading It)

You don't need expensive desktop software to make quick changes to a PDF. This guide walks through the most common edits — reorganising pages, merging documents, and adding or replacing text — using a free tool that keeps your file entirely on your device.

Organise pages: reorder, rotate, delete and merge

Open the Edit PDF tool and drop in your PDF (or several). Every page appears as a thumbnail. Drag pages to reorder them, rotate any that came in sideways, duplicate or delete pages, and drop in additional PDFs to merge everything into one document.

Add or replace text

Open any page to enter the content editor. Use Add text to drop a new text box anywhere, or switch to Select and click an existing line of text to replace it — the tool covers the original and gives you an editable box at a matching size. Choose the font, size and colour, and drag the box into place.

A note on expectations: true 'reflow' editing like Adobe Acrobat isn't possible inside a browser, because a PDF stores positioned glyphs rather than editable paragraphs. The cover-and-replace approach handles the vast majority of real edits — fixing a name, date, price or a wrong line.

Whiteout and custom fonts

Use the Whiteout tool to cover an area — handy for hiding a block of content before you retype it. You can also upload your own .ttf or .otf font, which is embedded into the exported PDF so your text matches the original document's look.

Export — and stay private

When you're done, click Export and the edited PDF is rebuilt on your device and downloaded immediately. Because nothing is uploaded, this is safe for confidential contracts and forms. Undo, redo and a per-page reset mean you can experiment freely.
